This section provides answers to the most frequent qestions related to the codex
and its functioning. The aim of the factsheets is to concentrate the most relevant information of an issue on one page. In the past, the Codex Secretariat has already published an information guide for first-time delegateson a Codex session. As a pilot factsheet, "What is Codex" and "How does Codex elaborate Standards?" was drafted by Dr. Urs Klemm and approved by Mary Kenny, FAO. Based on positive comments combined with proposals to optimise its content and further experiences there may be developed other factsheets on the following issues:
- Codex Contact Points (objectives, organisation, procedures a.s.o.)
- efficient preparation and representation of national matters of concern in Codex meetings
- risk analysis, guidelines for governments
- Codex Trustfund
